Introducing the Operational Leadership of the Texas Hockey League

As the Texas Hockey League (THL) prepares for its inaugural season, we are excited to introduce the dedicated leadership team that will guide the league’s operations, uphold its core values, and ensure an exceptional experience for players, families, and clubs across Texas and Oklahoma.

Commissioner: Andy Gibson

Serving as the Commissioner of the Texas Hockey League, Andy Gibson brings an extensive background in hockey leadership and program development. With a career spanning nearly two decades in the sport, Andy has led growth and development initiatives at the local, regional, and national levels.

Throughout his career, Andy has demonstrated a deep commitment to growing the game, supporting coaches and volunteers, and building high-performing organizations. His expertise in program development, governance, community engagement, and event management will help ensure that the THL delivers a first-class hockey experience for players and families across the region.

As Commissioner, Andy will:

Execute the direction set by the Board of Directors, oversee daily operations, and uphold the integrity of the THL

Serve as the public face of the league and primary liaison to member clubs, sponsors, and governing bodies

Promote fairness, player development, and competitive excellence

Ensure transparent communication and consistent league governance

Deputy Commissioner: Patrick Warrington

The Texas Hockey League proudly welcomes Patrick Warrington as Deputy Commissioner for Ethics, Safety, and Game Advancement.

Patrick brings decades of experience managing player safety, discipline, and conduct matters within the Texas hockey community. Having served in key disciplinary roles across various leagues and levels of play, Patrick is widely respected for his balanced, consistent, and fair approach to upholding the game's values.

Patrick will oversee:

Discipline processes and conduct reviews

Enforcement of league rules and player safety standards

Promotion of sportsmanship and ethical behavior across all divisions

Development of league-wide education and best practices regarding safety and conduct

Operational Roles Supporting the League

In addition to the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, the Texas Hockey League has established a team of operational roles and committees to help guide the league's success.

League Scheduler: Develops and coordinates a comprehensive league schedule, working closely with member clubs and rink facilities to ensure optimal scheduling.

Leveling Committee: Ensures competitive balance through thoughtful team placement at the start of the season.

Communications Committee: The communications leads all league-wide messaging and media efforts. This committee is responsible for managing internal and external communications, including newsletters, social media, press releases, and website updates.

Registrar: Facilitates player and team registration, compliance with USA Hockey and TAHA guidelines, and maintains league records.

Treasurer: Manages the financial affairs of the league, ensures fiscal responsibility, and reports to the Executive Board.
