Open Letter to the Texas & Oklahoma Travel Hockey Community

Dear Texas and Oklahoma Travel Hockey Community,

We are excited to introduce the Texas Hockey League (THL), a new innovative travel hockey league aimed at evolving and elevating the youth hockey experience throughout Texas and Oklahoma. As leaders and passionate advocates for the sport, we recognize that there are areas where we must improve, and we are committed to doing so in a positive and meaningful way.

Communication is at the forefront of our mission. We know that better communication is essential, and we are dedicated to creating an environment where parents have more direct access to hockey leaders. Through tools like Zoom calls, podcasts, and open forums, we will foster ongoing conversations and build stronger relationships within our hockey community.

We also recognize the need to enhance education around the game. We will do a better job of being a reliable source of information, ensuring that parents, players, and coaches understand the vision and direction of the league and hockey development journey. Our goal is to demystify decisions, processes, and development opportunities, providing clarity at every step.

The THL represents a unique opportunity to celebrate and cultivate the achievements of our players. We are committed to highlighting their experiences, accomplishments, and memories through events, media, and community engagement. Our aim is to create a supportive environment where every player feels valued and encouraged.

We acknowledge that leadership comes with challenges, and we understand that critiques are a natural part of progress. We respectfully ask for your patience and support as the THL evolves and transforms into a positive force within the community. Our ultimate focus is to channel the passion and energy of youth sports into positive, uplifting, and enriching experiences for the kids.

At the heart of the THL are hockey people making hockey development decisions. We are a group of youth hockey directors who believe in nurturing evolving and expanding the development and experience within the sport. We are committed to providing the best value and experience possible for players and families alike.
