Texas Hockey League (THL) Set to Commence for the 2025-2026 Season
We are proud to announce our commitment to the newly formed Texas Hockey League (THL) for the 2025-2026 season. This strategic move represents a significant step in the continued evolution of youth travel hockey across Texas.
The THL is built on core principles developed by experienced hockey professionals, ensuring a player-first approach that prioritizes:
Value - Provide value for teams and families
Scheduling & Leveling - High quality schedule while prioritizing player development. When necessary, create an unbalanced and organized schedule that will have teams playing many of their games against competitive opponents. All while being mindful of where teams travel to ensure highly competitive games. A leveling process with possibility of upward or downward movement if it is right for the players.
Development – A structured path to help players reach their full potential through cultivating and engaging the competitive love for the game.
Competition – A league designed to provide high-caliber matchups, fostering growth and preparing players for the next level.
Integrity & Sportsmanship – Promoting respect, teamwork, and accountability on and off the ice.
Community & Growth – Strengthening the hockey community across Texas, creating a league that celebrates and benefits players, families, and organizations alike. Enhancing the hockey culture with an emphasis on communication, education, and community engagement.
"As Hockey Directors, we came together and recognized that change is essential for progress. The THL represents a fresh, dynamic approach to travel hockey in Texas, and we are excited about the opportunities this league will bring to our players and families," said representatives from various organizations.

Organizations interested in joining the Texas Hockey League (THL) are encouraged to email the league at directors@texashockeyleague.com for details on the application process.
The THL is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive hockey community. While the initial list of participating organizations is not final, we will continue to engage with potential members as we build and grow the league.
We recognize that not all organizations were included in the initial group. This is just the beginning, intended to initiate conversations and encourage collaboration. We will thoughtfully consider all candidates to ensure alignment with our vision of promoting a positive and unified development focused hockey culture.
We ask for your patience and support as we work through the startup process. Our priority is to establish a league composed of likeminded individuals and organizations who are committed to building a strong, positive development environment which gives great value to our players.
The THL is an independent league operated without affiliation. As the premier youth hockey league in Texas, the THL will foster high-level competition, provide enhanced development opportunities, and emphasize a strong commitment to excellence both on and off the ice.
By joining the THL, the teams will compete against top-tier programs across the region, benefiting from a league structure that prioritizes player growth, competitive balance, and an engaging experience for families, players, coaches, and volunteers. The THL will be led by a Governor and Commissioner (TBD), along with a working board made up of all the hockey directors. We are currently in the process of seeking candidates for the roles of Governor, Commissioner, and additional operations positions.
We are excited to embark on this new chapter in Texas hockey. More details about the upcoming season, including schedules and league format, will be announced in the coming months. Camp dates and tryouts will remain the same as announced by the organizations. For more information about the THL, additional information will be released in the coming weeks.
